What is Carbon Footprint?

Simply put, carbon footprint is the total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and other greenhouse gases such as methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (NO2), and fluorinated gases (F) that we generate from our daily activities. Calculating Carbon Footprint

To calculate the carbon footprint of an individual or an organization, various factors need to be considered such as the living area, lifestyle, type, and level of energy consumption.

For example: You use a motorcycle to travel 200km with a fuel consumption rate of 2.5 liters per 100km.

The total distance of 200km will consume: 2.5 x 2 = 5 liters of fuel.

Each liter of fuel burned emits 2.3 kg of CO2.

Calculating this journey will add 5 x 2.3 kg = 11.5 kg of CO2. This figure will contribute to your annual carbon footprint. In Vietnam, the average carbon footprint is nearly 1.18 tons per person per year.
